Local impacts of tourism

Tourism has been on a steady growth path especially over the last five years, and with the influx of the new Spanish all Inclusive Resorts, Jamaica seems poised to move its arrival figures closer to five million tourists within the next three years, provided a new strategy and a sustainable marketing program is put in place. There are currently, however, some social conditions which may spill over in the industry if some of the resources and income from tourism are not diversified, thereby creating a wider spread of benefits and a much greater impact on the rest of Jamaica....
