FAREWELL, PAT ROXBOROUGH-WRIGHT

The loss of prolific journalist, part-time lecturer, pianist, mother, wife, colleague and friend, Patricia (Pat) Roxborough-Wright, has dealt a great blow to so many who loved and admired this exceptional woman. A former Editor-at-Large at the Jamaica Observer’s Western Bureau, Mrs. Roxborough-Wright had only recently embarked on her dream of becoming a lawyer when illness intervened cruelly.

Bartlett’s bombshell

Newspaper reports last week quoted Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett as saying that he was working towards making Falmouth the tourist capital of Jamaica. If the goodly Minister, who interestingly is the Member of Parliament of East Central St. James where many of his constituents rely on the tourism product for their livelihood, is quoted correctly and is to be taken seriously, then it is safe to say that Montego Bay is about to lose its coveted title.
