‘The Return’ of Reggae Sumfest, 2022 will go down as one of the best and one of the most viewed events in the festival’s history. Thanks to broadband technology by Flow, people enjoyed this marquee reggae event in various formats at home and at the venue. With its free Wi-Fi offering, Flow also provided a way for patrons at the event to share content, keeping them connected to friends wherever they were.

Reggae Sumfest was filled with memorable moments befitting its return from the controversial to the praiseworthy. According to Senior Manager, Marketing Latoy Lawrence, broadband technology will continue to play a key role in the fan experience at music events as it offers more ways to interact with the event and the artistes.

“Technology enhances the patron experience at events such as Reggae Sumfest by bringing people closer even if they are miles away and making the experience more meaningful,” said Lawrence. “There were so many memorable moments from Reggae Sumfest, and more persons got to experience them thanks to the power of technology.”

Flow further delighted patrons who visited its booth with shareable moments, including a swing-inspired Instagram wall, access to a 360-degree camera and charging stations to ensure their mobile phones were powered.

“The experience we offered was centred around providing patrons with everything they would need to stay connected with friends and share their experiences. From the free Wi-Fi to the very cool 360-degree camera to the charging stations, all of it was focused on allowing the patrons to stay connected and not miss an opportunity to capture and share the moment,” Lawrence added.

Speaking about the impact of the event, Lawrence said Reggae Sumfest influences cultural, social and economic interests as she congratulated Downsound Entertainment for a successful event.

“The Return of Sumfest was a huge success,” she declared. “The artistes showed their maturity in their performances, the patrons were loyal, with the majority staying until sunrise, and the musical culture and talent were well represented.  We were happy to be a part of this event.”
